La Finca: The name "La Secreta" is appropriate, given the abundant and mysterious natural treasures that the estate harbours. The blend of rich nature, secrets and an element of mystery adds a unique charm to Finca Las Secreta, making it a valuable addition to their portfolio. It is clear that Cafelumbus values not only coffee production, but also the conservation of the environment and its complex ecosystems. It is fascinating to learn about Finca Las Secreta and its unique characteristics. Cafelumbus' acquisition of the farm in 2019 and the decision to include it in its portfolio because of its natural diversity is commendable. The dedication of Juan Carlos Mejia and his family to manage the 130,000 coffee trees on this 30 hectare property, with 25 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation, is truly impressive.
For this process, the coffee is harvested at its optimum ripeness. As a second check, the coffee is sorted by density, in which the cherries are placed in tanks with water and the beans floating on the surface are removed.
At this point, the infusion of hibiscus flowers and the bacteria specific to this batch of coffee are added. The container is then sealed and the anaerobic fermentation process begins. The fermentation lasts 120 hours, after which the coffee is dried for approximately 6 to 10 days, depending on the climate.
