History of the EL SALVADOR DOSAMBAR COFFEE

The Producer: Andrés Salaverría is the fifth generation of a coffee-growing family with more than 100 years of history in El Salvador. He has been involved in coffee since he was a child, accompanying his father to the mill and actively participating in the family business. In 2011, after completing the Ernesto Illy Master's Degree in Coffee Science and Economics, Andrés returned to the country and focused on the commercial, industrial and administrative management of the farms, working alongside his father, José Antonio Salaverría, who is in charge of agricultural management.
The family manages farms in Atiquizaya, Concepción de Ataco, Jayúa, and Apaneca, always with an eye toward diversification and incorporating new trends into their processes.
The San Francisco Farm, located near La Majada in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec region, is one of the most representative. Fertile volcanic soils, full shade, and a harvest based on the selective picking of ripe cherries are part of its focus on quality. In addition, the farm is home to a natural forest reserve, donated to the National Forestry Association of El Salvador, and develops community support programmes in health and education.
Andrés' work reflects a balance between tradition and contemporary vision. His international experience and technical training have been key to strengthening the value proposition of the family coffee business, bringing structure and focus to the marketing of high-quality micro-lots. Thanks to his leadership, today the family business is prepared to respond to the demands of the global market, while maintaining its commitment to quality, traceability and sustainable development at every stage of the chain.
