History of the GUATEMALA XEABAJ COFFEE

La Finca: The department of Quiché, in the western highlands of Guatemala, has an extensive coffee-growing tradition sustained mainly by small producers organised in cooperatives and associations. Coffee growing is carried out on small-scale farms, many of them family-run, where manual labour, respect for the environment and careful processing methods are prioritised. The region's high altitudes, different microclimates and volcanic soils favour the production of speciality coffees with complex profiles, good acidity and a strong identity.

The village of Xeabaj, located in the department of Quiché, is a rural community with a strong agricultural tradition where coffee is an essential part of the family economy. Its farms are located in a mountainous environment, with high altitudes, cool climate and fertile soils, favourable conditions for coffee cultivation. Production is characterised by small-scale, artisanal management, manual harvesting and environmentally friendly practices.
